Last week saw the announcement of the nominations for the 69th Emmy® Awards, covering shows which aired between June 1st 2016 and May 31st 2017.
In amongst the awards for all aspects of TV production are a handful that are of particular interest to Resurface and our readers. These audio category nominees are all listed below, and Resurface offers our congratulations for all those who have received this prestigious recognition of their excellent work.
Resurface congratulates in particular four nominees who have generously contributed their knowledge to the site:
Larry Benjamin : Nominated for his work on Better Call Saul, Larry shared with us his perspective of the show as a re-recording mixer in our first installment of Scene : Heard, as well as talking to us about his audio post podcast, Smartcast.
Graham Wild and Kate Hopkins : Nominated for Planet Earth II, in separate categories as Mixer and Editor, Graham and Kate gave us an insightful and candid behind-the-scenes look at what is a stunning piece of television. Worth noting also is that Jacob Shea and Jasha Klebe are also Emmy nominated for their score. Read more here.
Howard Bargroff : Howard is nominated in two categories for the same exceptional piece of work. As a key member of the sound team behind Sherlock, Howard has been nominated both as an editor and a mixer. Howard gave us in insight into the changing role of the TV mixer in our article about the demise of the client-attended audio session.
